ABOUT Salmon macher jhol RECIPE

One of my comfort food since my childhood is macher jhol with rice. The patla jhol has all the taste and the aroma of the fish.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Salmon fish steak 2 pc
  2. Turmeric powder - 1/2 n 1/2 tsp
  3. Onion seed/ kalo jeera/magrail - 1/2 tsp
  4. Mustard oil
  5. Rice flour 1 tsp
  6. Jeera powder 3/4 tsp
  7. Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  8. Ginger paste- 1 tsp
  9. Potatoe- 2 slices
  10. Cauliflower - 2- 3 florets
  11. Salt


  1. 1. Rub fish pieces with salt,turmeric powder and rice flour. Keep for 5 mins.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the fish pieces till both sides are golden brown. Keep it aside.
  3. 3. Fry the potatoes and cauliflower florets till golden. Keep them aside
  4. 4. Take a bowl, add all powdered masalas and salt and some water. Make a runny paste and keep it aside.
  5. 5. In the same pan, add some oil, if it's finished. Put onion seeds, ginger paste and runny masala paste. Fry for some time till oil separates.
  6. 6. Add potatoes and cauliflower florets and some water for jhol and cover and cook for 5 mins.
  7. 7. Put the fish pcs and cook again for 5 mins or till vegetables are done.
  8. 8 garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
