Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Basmati or any type of rice 2 cup
  2. Fenugreek seeds 1 tbsp
  3. Salt to taste
  4. deshi Ghee 1 tbsp
  5. chopped Green chili 2
  6. sliced Onion 1
  7. black Pepper powder 1 tsp
  8. black Pepper 4
  9. Buttermilk 4 cup


  1. Thoroughly wash and soak rice for 20 minutes. In another bowl soak fenugreek seeds for 10 minutes.
  2. In a pan heat oil and add fenugreek seeds. When they start to pop, add green chili and onion. To this add soaked rice, black pepper powder, salt and butter.
  3. Stir to combine. When this starts to boil, lower the flame and cook covered until rice is completely cooked.
