Methi masala rice

Ingredients to make Methi masala rice

  • 1 cup of rice- Basmati
  • Half cup of fresh fenugreek leaves chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 1/ tsp ginger- garlic paste
  • 1tsp of jeera
  • 2 bay leaves 5-6
  • whole Black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp juice of lemon
  • salt to taste
  • For Garnish: 1 Tomato ,coriander leaves, papad

How to make Methi masala rice

  1. Take oil in a cooker. Once hot add Jeera, Bay leaves, Black Pepper corns, saute them well tell nice aroma starts coming.
  2. Now add onions and saute them till pink and transparent.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste, chopped green chilli and mix it well and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Now add the finely chopped Methi Leaves and let it cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add pre-soaked rice and mix it well.
  6. Add 2 cups of water and mix it well. Let it whistle twice, switch off the gas burner and let it stand for few minutes till all pressure is released.
  7. Open the lid. Transfer methi masala rice to serving plate and Garnish with tomato, papad and coriander leaves.
