About thethri Recipe

Thethri is a famous festival snack in chhattisgarh. Try it out to enjoy the flavour of chhattisgarh.

Ingredients to make thethri

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 2 tbsp hot oil
  • 1/8 tsp carom seeds
  • salt to taste
  • water as required (approx 1/4 cup)
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make thethri

  1. mix gram flour and rice flour in a bowl
  2. add hot oil, carom seeds and salt, mix well
  3. add water and prepare a tight dough
  4. take a small portion of dough and roll it into a small ball
  5. roll the dough evenly over rolling board
  6. grab one end of it and rotate on the other side
  7. now join both the ends as shown in the image and make thethri
  8. prepare all in the same way
  9. heat oil in a kadai for deep frying
  10. add thethris and deep fry on low-medium flame until crispy and golden brown
  11. enjoy this traditional snack during tea time
  12. you can store it for 25-30 days in air tight container
