ABOUT Kadai pitha RECIPE

An everyday simple to make recipe popular in western part of Odisha.It is a preferred breakfast recipe of that place and healthy one too as it requires a little oil to make and it is done in a kadai known as kadai pitha. One can make both sweet and savoury version of it.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rice 300gm
  2. Dhuli urad dal 150gm
  3. Chopped ginger 1/2tsp
  4. Chopped green chilli 1/2tsp
  5. Chopped coriander 2tbs
  6. Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
  7. Crushed black pepper 3
  8. Fresh coconut chopped 1tbs
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil 2tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak rice and urad dal in water separately for few hrs.
  2. Grind them separately and mix together.
  3. Add salt and water required for a thin batter.
  4. Keep it covered for sometime
  5. Now mix the rest ingredients to this.
  6. Heat a kadai in medium flame.
  7. Heat oil and add mustard seeds.
  8. Once splutters, pour the batter to this.
  9. Cover and let it cool.
  10. Once the lower side is crisp and brown , turn the side carefully and let it cool from both the side
  11. Once done from both sides, take it into a plate.
  12. Cut desired shape and serve it warm.
