ABOUT KHAJOOR AUR KISHMIS HALWA RECIPE

Khajoor ka halwa is a famous arabian dessert.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup milk
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1cup breadcrumbs
  5. 1cup carrots grated
  6. 1 cup dates deseeded (chopped)
  7. 1cup walnuts(chopped)
  8. 1/4 cup almonds skimmed and (chopped)
  9. 1/4 cup raisins
  10. 2tbsp ghee
  11. 1/2tsp saffron
  12. 1/2tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Wash walnuts and dates well.
  2. Roast the breadcrumbs, dry in a kadhai, till well roasted and you get a nice aroma, allow to cool.
  3. Cook on medium flame, walnuts, carrots, almonds, raisins and dates in water and milk , till the carrots are cooked.
  4. Add breadcrumbs(and 1/4 tsp of yellow colouring if liked) and saffron and cook further stirring all the time , till the mixture becomes dry.
  5. Add sugar and Cook till the halwa becomes semi sold.
  6. Stir in cardamom and ghee, fry for a minute.
  7. To be served hot.
