About Dabeli Recipe

Dabeli is asnack foodofIndia, originating in theKutchregion ofGujarat. It is a spicy snack made by mixing boiled potatoes with a dabelimasala, and putting the mixture between pav (burger bun) and served withchutneysand garnished with pomegranate and roasted peanuts.


Ingredients to make Dabeli

  • 4butter fried buns
  • boiled peeled potatoes (1 medium sized) mashed
  • onion (1 small sized) chopped
  • For dabeli masala- cinnamon sticks (1)
  • Zeera (cumin seeds)1 tsp
  • pepper (5 balls)
  • coriander seeds(1/2 tsp)1
  • Black salt (1 tsp)
  • Dry roast these masala and grind them)
  • 1 tsp (mango powder)
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • For garnishing
  • Pomegranate ,Red grapes and Fresh coriander.
  • Aloo bhujiya or any kind of sev. Roasted peanuts

How to make Dabeli

  1. Take a wok add oil and put the boiled mashed potatoes in it.
  2. Stir it for 2 minutes then add onions into it.
  3. Now add dabeli masala ,sugar andmango powder in the potatoes.
  4. Now stir the masala for 5..6 minutes.Keep aside.
  5. Now take a bowl start layering - Firstly add the potato onion masala Second layering of sev or aloo bhujiya
  6. Third layer of peanuts
  7. Fourth layer of freshcoriander (Chopped one)
  8. Fifth and the last layer of pomegranate and Red grapes
  9. Now take the Buns and start the stuffing it.Enjoy with GreenCoriander chutney or tamarind Chutney.
