Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Masoor dal 200 gm (brown coloured)
  2. Tej patta2-3
  3. Salt a pinch
  4. Sugar 1 spoon
  5. Punjabi gravy masala 1 spoon
  6. Kasuri methi 1 spoon
  7. Garam masala 1 spoon
  8. Red chilly powder 1 spoon
  9. Turmeric powder 1 spoon
  10. Tomato 1 cup
  11. Onion 1 cup
  12. Ginger-garlic paste 1 spoon
  13. Water 2 cups
  14. Oil 1 spoon
  15. Mustard seeds 1 spoon
  16. Hing 1 spoon
  17. Coriander powder 1 spoon

Instructions

  1. Soak masur dal for 8 hours in water.
  2. Heat oil in cooker then add oil, mustard seeds, hing, turmeric powder, tej patta, onions, tomato, ginger-garlic paste and saute them well.
  3. Now add masur dal, water, red chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala, punjabi gravy masala, kasuri methi, salt, sugar, water and pressure cook upto 3 whistles.
  4. Serve dal makhani with hot paratha, naan or kulcha.
