Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gm chana dal soaked over night
  2. Ginger 1" inch
  3. Garlic 6-7 cloves
  4. 5-6 green chillies
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. A pinch of asafetida
  7. 1/2 tsp of haldi n kashmiri mirch each, ( just for color)
  8. Coriander leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1. Soak chana dal over night
  2. Step2. Next morning, make the paste of soaked chana dal along with ginger, garlic, green chillies, salt, pinch of hing, 1/2 tsp of red chillies powder n haldi
  3. Step3. Now make the dough of wheat flour or rice flour. Make small balls of it n roll into chapatis. These rotis should not be very fine, keep it little thick. Be very careful while making rotis of rice flour.
  4. Step4. Now put the chana dal filling on this roti n fold it in semi circle, as u do it in gujiya,
  5. Step5. No need to make design at sides (again b very very careful while folding the rice flour roti, it get cracks)
  6. Step6. Now put these gujiya shaped peetha in boiling water n bring it to boil, unless it's hard.
  7. Step7. Once it get ready , n hard, cut it into slices, (thickness varies) thin slices are nice to eat.
  8. Step8. Now heat 1 tbs of oil n heat it in kadahi. Once the oil gets heated, put mustard seeds, slit green chillies n curry leaves. When it starts sputtering put sliced peetha n fry till golden.
  9. Serve it with green coriander chutney..
