This is an authentic bengali traditional dish.koi fish cooked in mustard oil and spices makes a perfectcombination.

Ingredients to make Tel koi

  • Koi fish 2pcs
  • onion juice 1tbsp
  • ginger paste 1tsp
  • Kolonji 1tsp
  • cumin powder 1tsp
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric 1tsp
  • sugar to taste

How to make Tel koi

  1. Deep fry koi fish mix with turmeric and salt.keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan,Add kolonji.
  3. Add onion juice and ginger paste and cumin powder.
  4. Add red chilli powder and water.let it come to the boiling point.
  5. Add fish now.cover the lid and let it cook for sometimes.
  6. Lastly add ghee and garam masala.serve it with hot steamed rice.

My Tip:

Can be spread raw mustard oil once it's done.
