A very healthy combination of green leafy vegetable with sesame seed

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Gongura 1 bunch
  2. Sesame seeds 1/4 cup
  3. Oil 5 tbsp
  4. Mustard seed 2 spoons
  5. Fenugreek seeds 2 spoons
  6. Dry red chillies 10
  7. Hing 1 tsp
  8. Salt for taste
  9. Turmeric 1 tsp
  10. Garlic 5 cloves optional


  1. Take the leaves from the bunch and wash them and keep it aside
  2. Take a pan and dry roast the sesame seeds and take it to a plate and cool them
  3. Take a pan and add 1 tbsp of mustard, fenugreek seeds and saute them .. and keep it aside and cool them
  4. Now grind the sesame seeds and the above sauted by using water .
  5. Take a pan and add the remaining oil and add mustard, fenugreek seeds, 2 dry red chillies and garlic pods and saute them and add washed and chopped gongura leaves and saute them till they are mushy
  6. When gongura is well cooked and is soft then add the mixture which we grinded by using water and mix well
  7. Turn the flame to medium and add salt and turmeric and make it boil for 10 mins
  8. Ready to serve with rice
