Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 leftover rotis
  2. Half cup sugar
  3. few teaspoon of milk for sugar syrup
  4. 1 cup of milk for the dough use as required
  5. Half cup of water to make the sugar syrup
  6. Oil for frying
  7. 1 green cardamom crushed
  8. Almonds and pistachios for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Take out the rotis from the fridge. Heat the tawa for making rotis crispy
  2. Press the rotis properly and heat it so that it becomes nice hard and crisp
  3. Switch off the flame and keep the Rotis aside till it cools down
  4. Then start making sugar syrup in a separate pan
  5. Add the sugar and water in the pan and let it boil
  6. When it starts boiling add few teaspoons of milk to remove the impurities of the sugar
  7. Keep the sugar syrup thick and it should not be thin consistency. Then add the crushed cardamom in it.
  8. when the sugar syrup is ready switch off the flame.
  9. After the rotis cool down grind it into fine powder
  10. Then make a soft dough from it using milk
  11. Make the shape of the gulab jamun as you want either as balls or in an oval shape.
  12. Deep fry the balls and keep it aside let it cool
  13. Warm the sugar syrup and then add the gulab jamun in it. Leave it for some time till it becomes soft.
  14. Garnish with finely chopped Almonds and pistachios
