It is a delicacy from Bihar.I made it from left over rice.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Left over cooked rice 1cup.
  2. Pre soaked rice 3/4cup.
  3. Pre soaked bengal gram 1/2cup.
  4. Red chilly powder 1table spoon .
  5. Turmeric powder 1tea spoon .
  6. Garam masala powder 1tea spoon.
  7. Ginger_garlic paste 1table spoon.
  8. Thinly sliced bottle gourd 1/2cup.
  9. Chopped coriander leaves 1/2cup.
  10. Chopped green chillies 2.
  11. Mustard oil 150ml.
  12. Salt 1table spoon.


  1. Wet grind rice to a smooth paste .
  2. Also grind cooked,left_over rice to a smooth paste.
  3. Mix both rice in a large bowl.
  4. Add all the ingredients exept oil,and mix well.
  5. Add some water to get a dropping consistency.
  6. Heat a tawa.
  7. Put 4table spoon mustard oil and heat till smoke comes out.
  8. Put a big laddle full of batter into the oil .
  9. Fry on medium heat till golden on both sides.
  10. Serve with coriander chutney.
  11. Keep aside.
