ABOUT Blackened Chicken RECIPE

There are many ways that chicken could be cooked with zero oil and yet be absolutely delicious. This blackened chicken is one of my favourites!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 6 pieces of chicken drumsticks or thighs
  2. Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
  3. Soy sauce: 1 and 1/2 tbsp
  4. Vinegar: 1 and 1/2 tbsp
  5. Garam masala powder- 2 tsp
  6. Salt: to taste
  7. Red chilli powder: 1 tsp


  1. Wash and clean the chicken thoroughly and make 3-4 slits in each drumstick for better marination.
  2. Put the chicken into a big ziplock( plastic) bag. Also add all the rest of the ingredients listed into the ziplock( plastic) bag.
  3. Seal the bag and give it a good shake, so that all the ingredients mix well with the chicken.
  4. Marinate it for at least 30 minutes or so. You can also opt to marinate it overnight.
  5. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees celsius.
  6. Place the marinated chicken on a baking tray and bake for 30-40 mins or until the chicken is cooked. You can turn the chicken once in between this time.
  7. Serve hot alongside your favourite dip for best taste.
