Macaroni Balls

Ingredients to make Macaroni Balls

  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 3/4 cup poha
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 1 cup finely chopped veggies(I have used cabbage, capsicum, French beans)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2tsp granulated sugar
  • 2tsp butter
  • 2tbsp cornflour
  • 1 cup or more bread crumbs

How to make Macaroni Balls

  1. Cook the macaroni in a large pot with 3 times water filled. You will have to overcook the macaroni to make it a bit mushy. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Drain the pohad under water and keep aside. Flat poha will do better in this case.
  3. Heat a wok. Add butter. Add onions and saute for one min. Add the rest of veggies and cook untill soft. Add salt, pepper and sugar.
  4. Add the macaroni and poha. Cook for a min and let it cool.
  5. Now you need to smoothen the mixture either with your hands or with a masher. Also mix cornflour in 1/2 cup water and mix well.
  6. Make small balls with wet hands. Coat in cornflour and then in bread crumbs with alternate hands. Deep fry until golden brown.
  7. Serve hot with Creamy Mayo sauce and green chutney.
  8. Enjoy!!

My Tip:

You can make the balls and crumb it ahead of time and keep in fridge if serving for party. Fry at the instant and serve hot.
