ABOUT Pasta Veg Au Gratin RECIPE

Pasta Veg Au Gratin is basically a baked casserole French dish , made with lots of veggies, covered with bechamel sauce (White sauce ) , coated with layers of cheese. Now in my delicious recipe i have used feccucine pasta ( ribbon pasta ) with regular veg au gratin.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Tomatoes 4 chopped
  2. Pink onions 1 medium sized chopped
  3. Garlic pods 4-5
  4. Olive oil 2 tablespoon
  5. Oregano 10g
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. Spinach chopped 50g
  8. Capsicum 1 medium sized chopped
  9. Butter 1 tablespoon
  10. Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Milk 1 cup
  12. Cream 2 tablespoon
  13. Mozzarella cheese 1 cup grated


  1. First we will be making red tomato garlic sauce.
  2. Chop 3 tomatoes and pour them in a pot of boiling water.
  3. Let then soften , now immediately put them under cold water ..The skin of tomatoes would shrink and come out
  4. Now take a sauce pan , heat Olive oil and add garlic and remaining chopped tomato. Cook them till they become tender.
  5. Now add the pureed tomato , salt .Keep stirring ..
  6. Now add oregano .Allow it to cool.
  7. So this is our basic home made arrabiata sauce.
  8. Next step is to melt the butter in a sauce pan and add all chopped veggies , fresh spinach chopped into it
  9. Add black pepper powder.
  10. Add milk and cream ..Stir it throughly ..keep it aside
  11. Meanwhile boil any pasta of your choice. I have boiled fettucine pasta till it becomes soft before al dente. Run it under cold water in a colander now.
  12. Keep it aside.
  13. Next step and the final step is assembling in the casserole .
  14. Preheat the Oven at 230°C
  15. Take a casserole , apply butter on all the sides.
  16. Spread the vegetables all over
  17. Add a layer mozzarella cheese
  18. Add fettucine pasta , spread it thoroughly.
  19. Spread Arrabiata sauce over it.
  20. Grate the cheese and add chopped raw onions .
  21. Cover the casserole with aluminium foil and bake it for 20-25 minutes till the cheese covers the entire gratin dish.
  22. Remove the foil.
  23. Bake it again for 10 minutes till you get light golden brown crust..
  24. Your pasta Veg Au Gratin is ready.
  25. Enjoy it fully..
