This is most popular dish in nortgern regions of Afghanistan and Peshawar.Cooked with very few common ingriedients .

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 600-700 gms of chicken
  2. 300 gms red ripe tomatoes
  3. 1 TBSP garlic PASTE
  4. 1 tsp ginger paste
  5. 2-3 red whole chilies
  6. 1 tbsp coarsely ground roasted zeera
  7. 1 tbsp coarsely ground roasted coriander aeeda
  8. 1 tsp chilli flakes
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  11. 1 tsp kasori methi
  12. 1 tbsp butter
  13. 2-4 green chillies for garnish
  14. oil half cup


  1. In a wok heat oil.
  2. Fry chicken pieces on medium low heat ,till all its water evaporates.
  3. Take out fried half done chicken and keep it aside.
  4. In the same wok and oil add garlic ginger and saute.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes .
  6. Add salt and red chilli powder. Cover the wok and cook till tomatoes are tender.
  7. Now add fried chicken pieces into the wok.
  8. Add coarsely ground roasted zeera and corriander.
  9. Add chilli flakes.and red whole chillies
  10. Cover and cook till chicken is fully done.Add water if needed
  11. When chicken is fully done add chopped green chillies,kasori methi .
  12. Dish out and when serve add butter over hot kadhai chicken
  13. Best goes along with hot naan.
