ABOUT Paneer tamatar ka kut RECIPE

It is a hyderabadi dish . Tamatar ka kut means , curry made with lots of fresh and juicy tomato. If you want to go for a nonvegetarian version then instead of fried cottage cheese you can simply add boiled eggs . It can be served as a side dish with chapati or paratha with other meat dishes.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Paneer 200 gms
  2. Tomato 2 big
  3. Coconut milk 1/2 cup
  4. Tamarind pulp 1 tbsp
  5. Jaggery powder 1 tsp
  6. Spices powders :
  7. Tumeric 1/3 tsp
  8. Coriander 1/2 tsp
  9. Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  10. salt as per taste
  11. Oil 3 tbsp
  12. Seasoning :
  13. Curry leaves 1 sprig
  14. Rai 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil , when hot enough add rai seeds and chopped garlic , saute fir 30 seconds in medium heat . Add tomato wedges . Saute for 2_3 minutes
  2. In another pan fry paneer lightly and immerse in water . So that they don't get hard
  3. Add tomato puree , cook in medium heat for 2_3 minutes or until tomatoes are soft and raw smell goes off.
  4. Add turmeric powder , coriander powder , chilli powder , salt. Cook in low heat for 3 _4 minutes or till oil separates
  5. Add tamarind pulp and jaggery , mix and for 2-3 minutes in medium heat
  6. Add coconut milk
  7. Add fried paneer
  8. Simmer for 7-8 minutes or until the oil separates form the gravy and gravy thickens
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice . Enjoy !
