ABOUT Hyderabadi Tamatar Kut RECIPE

This is a hyderabadi special dish that is served with some spiced rice, or just some plain rice as well.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tomato puree of 6
  2. Besan 2 tbsp dry roasted
  3. Ginger Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  4. Red chilli powder
  5. Turmeric powder
  6. Green chillies 2 chopped
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Eggs 2 boiled -opitional
  9. Lemon juice of 1
  10. TO GRIND - Dry roast and podwer
  11. Zeera [cumin seeds] 1 tbs
  12. Rai [mustard seeds] 1 tbs
  13. Kalonji [nigella seeds] 1 tsp
  14. Methi [fenugreek seeds] 1/2 tsp
  15. For tempering :
  16. oil
  17. Rai [mustard seeds] - 1/4 th tsp
  18. Zeera [cumin seeds] - 1/4 th tsp
  19. Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  20. 2 chillies
  21. Garlic chopped 7 to 8
  22. Dry Red Chillies 2
  23. curry leaves
  24. Garnish
  25. Coriander leaves [handful]

Instructions

  1. Take the tomato puree add ginger garlic paste, dry masla and the dry roasted & grinded masala ,salt and let it boil
  2. Take the boiled eggs cut it into 2.Take a pan add little oil and add chilli pwdr haldi zeera and dhania powder and fry the eggs on 1 side. Keep it aside.this is opitional. You can just add plain boiled eggs aswell
  3. Take the gram flour and add little water.Make a slurry (besan n water mix together). Add the lemon juice
  4. Add this to the tomato puree and let it get thick and creamy
  5. For temering
  6. Take another pan add oil rai zeera chillies curry leaves green chilles and chopped garlic
  7. Add this to the tomato curry
  8. Add boiled eggs
  9. Garnish with fresh dhania
  10. Enjoy with steamed rice
  11. Note
  12. I had explained in my previous post regarding the tomato puree to be stored.If you do not have the tomato puree.Take 6 to 7 tomatoes.Chop them add 1 cup water and let it get all mushy.once cool grind it
