Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For pie crust
  2. 1 cup maida
  3. 1/2 cup chilled butter cut in cubes
  4. 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  5. Chilled water required to bring dough together
  6. For filling
  7. 4 ripe red tomatoes
  8. 2 tbsp oil
  9. 1 tbsp butter
  10. 1 tbsp chopped chilli powder
  11. 1 tsp degi Mirch powder
  12. 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  13. 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
  14. 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  15. 1 tbsp honey
  16. Salt and pepper to taste
  17. 2 tbsp vinegar
  18. Few fresh basil leaves
  19. Other ingredients
  20. 1 tbsp butter for brushing
  21. 1 tbsp milk for joining ends
  22. Few basil leaves and cherry tomatoes for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and sugar
  2. Then add butter to it and rub with palms to bring it to bread crumbs consistency
  3. Now add chilled water to bring the dough together.
  4. Chill it in fridge for 30 mins
  5. Meanwhile prepare filling
  6. Heat a pan .
  7. To this add oil and butter
  8. Now add garlic and ginger and saute for few minutes
  9. Then add chopped tomatoes and cook for few minutes.
  10. Now.add chilli chilli powder and degi Mirch powder
  11. Next add honey, Brown sugar salt and pepper .
  12. Let it simmer on.low flame.for.15 -20 mins till it becomes jam like consistency.
  13. Next add basil leaves and vinegar and cook for another 2 mins
  14. Switch off flame and.let it cool down .
  15. Now roll the dough which is chilling
  16. Cut in small circles
  17. Fold it as shown here. Brush some milk where circle is pinched so that it sticks
  18. Now fill prepared filling with the help of piping bag in cavity
  19. Now line a springfoam pan and arrange filled shell brushing outer covering so that each pie shell stick which to one another.
  20. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree for 30 mins .
  21. Garnish with basil leaves and cherry tomatoes
