ABOUT Buttermilk Pie RECIPE

Buttermilk Pie is a great dessert buffet for unexpected guests. It is a great addition with its light, comforting taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Pie Crust
  2. 1 cup white flour (maida)
  3. 1/4 cup butter
  4. 1/4 tsp salt
  5. For buttermilk pie
  6. 3 eggs
  7. 1 cup sugar
  8. 1 cup buttermilk
  9. 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  10. 1/4 tsp salt
  11. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  12. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  13. 1/2 cup melted butter
  14. 1/4 cup white flour (maida)
  15. For garnishing
  16. 1 cup whipped cream
  17. 1 tbsp blueberry crush


  1. Seive the flour. Add butter and salt. Rub it well with your fingertips. Add 2 tbsp of ice cold water and make a dough.
  2. Roll out the dough. Arrange the roll out dough in a greased cake tin or pie dish.
  3. Press the dough into pie dish and prick it with a fork on the bottom and sides.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius for 10 minutes. Do not remove from pie dish.
  5. Beat eggs until frothy. Add butter, sugar and flour. Beat until smooth.
  6. Add buttermilk, vanilla essence, lemon juice and nutmeg powder. Mix well.
  7. Pour into a pie shell. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree celsius for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Garnish with whipped cream snd blueberry crush.
