Rice flour thin holige is prepared by stuffing rice flour dough inside all-purpose flour dough. It is so tasty and delicious.

Ingredients to make Rice Flour Thin Obbattu

  • For kanaka.... All-purpose flour 1 cup
  • water 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Cooking oil 4 tsp
  • For stuffing.... Rice flour 1 cup
  • water 2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • ghee 1 tsp
  • For rolling and fry...
  • Cooking oil 1/4 cup

How to make Rice Flour Thin Obbattu

  1. TAKE ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR, WATER AND SALT TO TASTE IN A PAN
  2. COMBINE AND KNEAD WELL INTO A SMOOTH AND SOFT DOUGH
  3. AT THE END ADD 4 TSP OF COOKING OIL, KNEAD AGAIN
  4. THE DOUGH SHOULD BE SOFTER THAN CHAPATHI DOUGH, COVER AND KEEP ASIDE
  5. FOR STUFFING IN A PAN HEAT GHEE, ADD SALT AND WATER, BRING IT TO BOIL FINELY
  6. ADD 2 TSP OF RICE FLOUR, STIR CONTINUOUSLY TO GET PORRIDGE TEXTURE
  7. NOW ADD REMAINING FLOUR
  8. TAKE OFF FLAME, COVER AND KEEP ASIDE TILL COOL
  9. ONCE IT IS COOLED, KNEAD WELL
  10. MAKE CRICKET BALL SIZED DOUGH BALLS
  11. KEEP READY
  12. GREASE HOLIGE SHEET, TAKE LEMON SIZED ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR DOUGH
  13. KEEP READY KANAKA
  14. GREASE ANOTHER SHEET, TAKE KANAKA, MAKE IT FLAT
  15. PLACE STUFFING OVER IT
  16. CAREFULLY BRING THE SIDES TOGETHER, PRESS GENTLY TO FLATTEN, KEEP UPSIDE DOWN
  17. APPLY OIL TO ROLLING PIN, ROLL AS THIN AS POSSIBLE
  18. PLACE THE ROLLED HOLIGE OVER THE HOT PAN
  19. REMOVE THE SHEET
  20. WHEN THE BUBBLES START APPEAR, GREASE OIL, FLIP TO COOK ANOTHER SIDE
  21. COOK BOTH THE SIDES EVENLY, REMOVE AND SERVE
