ABOUT Kollu Podi RECIPE

Kollu is better known as horse gram legume and is extremely good for health. I learnt to make this powder from my grandmother, who will insist on eating healthy every day.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Horse gram/Kollu - 1 cup
  2. Red chilli - 5
  3. Asafoetida/ hing - ¼ tsp
  4. Garlic cloves - 3
  5. Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
  6. salt - 1 tsp
  7. Sesame Oil - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan and roast horse gram, curry leaves, garlic cloves, red chilli, asafoetida all together on a low flame for minimum 5 minutes. Keep stirring.
  2. Transfer it in a plate and let it cool down.
  3. Now add all these roasted ingredients with salt in your food processor and coarsely grind it.
  4. Store it in a dry, air tight container.
