Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Sabhudana 1 cup
  2. Water for soaking
  3. Sugar 1.5 cups
  4. Elachi powder 1 spoon
  5. Salt 2 pinch
  6. Fried cashews, raisins optional
  7. Food color (usually red orange)
  8. Ghee 3 to 4 spoons

Instructions

  1. Soak 1 cup of sabudana in water for about 6 hours.
  2. After 6 hours, drain off the water.
  3. Now grind the sabudana in a mixer by adding water.
  4. Make it a smooth paste.
  5. Now, take a pan and add 2 spoons if ghee.
  6. Keep the flame in low and add the paste and stir gently.
  7. Make sure it doesn't form lumps.
  8. Keep stirring if for 3 mins.
  9. Then add sugar into the pan.
  10. Keep stirring it and add food color.
  11. When you find the halwa consistency, add elachi powder and mix it gently.
  12. Turn off the flame and add a spoon of ghee and mix thoroughly.
  13. Now the perfect sabudana halwa is ready to serve.
