ABOUT Cheesy Veggie Vol-Au-Vents RECIPE

Bite size party appetizer...Vol-Au-Vents are readily available puff pastry cases which you can add filling of your choice (veg/nonveg)

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Vol-AU-Vent cases
  2. half cup sweet corn
  3. One cup finely chopped bell peppers red , green, yellow
  4. 1 tbsp Butter
  5. 1 tablespoon maida
  6. 1 cup milk
  7. one teaspoon Mixed Herbs
  8. 1 Teaspoon Chili Flakes
  9. 1 cup cheese grated cheese
  10. 1 tsp black pepper
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Take a pan, add 1 tsp olive oil, add corn and tri coloured bell peppers and saute for a min. Add salt, pepper and mixed herbs. Need not cook for long as we need to have a crunch to the veggies. Remove it in a plate and keep aside.
  2. 2. In the same pan, add butter, when it melts add flour and saute it for a min till the rawness goes away now slowly add milk and keep stiring so no lumbs are formed. Allow it cook for a sec, add salt, pepper..add little more milk if you feels it's too thick.
  3. 3. Now add 1/2 the quantity of grated cheese and mix well.
  4. 4. Now add sauted Veggies, mix well and switch of the gas...your Vol-Au-Vents filling is ready
  5. 5. Now take Vol-Au-Vent cases, add around 1 tsp of filling in the vent, top it with little grated cheese. Repeat these for all cases
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 180 degree...now place these cheesy Vol-Au-Vent for just 5 mins for the cheese to melt. Removed and garnish with a hint of tomato ketchup & serve hot.
