ABOUT Pepper Chicken RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 gm Chicken
  2. For Marination
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1/2 tsp Fresh Pepper powder
  5. 1 tsp lemon juice
  6. For Roasting
  7. 2-3 tbsp oil
  8. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  9. 1-2 green chilies slit
  10. 2 medium onions thinly sliced
  11. 1 tsp tomato chili sauce
  12. 1 tsp soy sauce
  13. 1-2 sprig curry leaves
  14. 1.5 tbsp crushed peppercorns
  15. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  16. 1 tsp coriander powder
  17. 1 tsp Chicken Masala/Garam Masala
  18. 1/4 teaspoon salt


  1. In a bowl, add chicken,lemon juice, freshly ground pepper and salt as mentioned under marination section
  2. Marinate chicken and rest it side for 1-2 hours
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add curry leaves, onions and green chilies. Saute until onions turn light brown
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until raw aroma disappears
  5. Add turmeric, coriander powder, freshly ground peppercorns, chicken masala and mix well for 1 minute
  6. Add sauces and mix well for 1 minute.
  7. Add chicken and mix well until chicken is well coated with masalas. Add very little salt as sauces also has enough salt. Mix well
  8. Cover and cook for 10 minutes over low medium heat until done stirring occasionally. Remove the lid. Increase the heat, roast until water has evaporated. garnish with little pepper powder
  9. Serve hot with lemon wedges
