Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For kofta-
  2. 2 cups chopped palak
  3. 1 1/2 cup boiled potato peeled and mashed
  4. 1-2 White bread
  5. 1/2 tspoon cumin and salt
  6. For batter-
  7. 1/4th cup besan
  8. Water as required
  9. Oil to fry
  10. For gravy-
  11. 2 Tablespoons Oil
  12. 1/2 teaspoon jeera
  13. Pinch of hing
  14. 1 onion
  15. Coriander Powder
  16. Lalmirch powder
  17. 3 tablespoon cashew powder
  18. Garam Masala
  19. Salt
  20. 1/2 cup Cream
  21. 1 tablespoons turmeric
  22. Water
  23. 2 cup chopped spinach puree
  24. 2-4 pods garlic
  25. 1 inch ginger
  26. 1 green chilli paste

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients for kofta. Spinach should be part dry and potato should be firm not over cook. Otherwise mix will be very soft and it will not hold shape.
  2. With oiled hands divide the mixture into 15-16 parts. Make them round balls. Make the batter add water in besan. Batter should be very smooth no lumps. It should be pouring consistency.
  3. Heat the oil in frying pan. To check if the oil is ready put small piece in oil.oil should sizzle. Dip the spinach ball in batter one at a time. And slowly drop in oil. Fry till golden brown.
  4. Making gravy. Heat pan and put oil. Add cumin seeds and hing. Stir well. Add onion mixture and tomato puree. Fry till raw smell gone.
  5. Add coriander powder,lal mirch powder,salt,sugar,cashew powder. Sitr fry for a minute. Then add palak puree. Stir fry for 2-3 minute. Add cream.
  6. Add little water and let the gravy cook for few minutes. Adjust the thickens of the gravy as per your taste by adjusting water. Add the prepared koftas and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes. Turn of the heat and add garam masala and cover the pan.
