Another yummy dish from my mother's repertoire.
To Prepare gravy-
Mix ginger garlic paste , coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp salt in a bowl, add some water and keep it aside.
In a large heavy bottomed pan heat oil and add bay leaves, cloves,pepper corns and cinnamon and let them crackle.
Add the onion, saute till it becomes colorless. Now add ginger garlic paste mix(made in step 1) to this and saute till oil separates.
Add pureed tomatoes to this and saute again. When oil separates once again, add beaten curd to this and keep stirring.
Once that starts boiling add about 3 cups of water and let it come to a boil.
Now for Kofta -Mix all kofta ingredients(mutton mince,ginger,garlic,onion, green chilli, nutmeg & mace powder and salt) together.
Once everything is nicely mixed make small balls (walnut size or little bigger) with the mixture.
When gravy starts boiling start dropping these koftas into it one by one. Once you have put all in the gravy, reduce the heat.
Let this simmer on low heat till the gravy thickens and mutton koftas are cooked.
Adjust seasoning in the end.
Add green coriander and cover for some time. Serve hot with chapati or paratha.
