Ingredients to make Panjeeri (grandma recipe )

  • 4 cup whole wheat flour (atta )
  • 5 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
  • 100 grm powdered almonds
  • 100 grm powdered pistachio
  • 100 grm powdered cashew
  • 100 grm chopped raisin
  • 100 grm dry ginger powder
  • Powdered sugar according to your taste
  • 100 grm postdana /khaskhas

How to make Panjeeri (grandma recipe )

  1. First take a heavy bottom pan or kadai . Add ghee/ clarified butter into this . When ghee is hot ;add whole wheat flour . Stir continuously.
  2. When nice aroma comes out from mix and it becomes brown in color , add powdered almonds , cashew , pistachio, dry ginger powder and chopped raisins and khaskhas . Mix all Ingredients well . If mixture is too dry add little bit ghee . Stir continuously. Turn off the gas . Let it cool .
  3. Now add powdered sugar to the mix . Mix well . Panjeeri is ready . Serve with nice hot cup of tea .

My Tip:

If mix is dry then add more ghee into this and you can change sugar quantity according to your tatse . You can use more nuts according to your choice .

Powdered sugar can be substituted by powdered jaggery for more healthy version of panjeeri with cardamom powder & cinnamon powder!
