Healthy egg biryani. With proteins and goodness of brown rice.

Brown rice egg biryani

Ingredients to make Brown rice egg biryani

  • Boiled egg 2
  • 1 cup brown rice. Washed and soaked in water for 1 hour
  • 2 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium tomato chopped
  • 2 slit green chillies
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1.5 tsp biryani masala
  • Mint and coriander leaves
  • 2 clove
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 5 peppercorn
  • 2 bay leaves
  • salt to taste

How to make Brown rice egg biryani

  1. Heat oil in pressure cooker. Add cloves, cardamom, bayleaf, peppercorn
  2. Add onion and green chillies. Fry till golden. Keep half of the fried onion aside. Add ginger garlic paste. Cook till raw smell goes off
  3. Add tomato.. Cook till mushy.
  4. Add curd, turmeric, chilli powder, Biryani masala.. Cook for sometime. Add mint and coriander leaves
  5. Add boiled eggs. Mix well with masala. Add 2 cups water. Drain the rice and add to cooker. Add salt.
  6. Mix and put the cooker lid.
  7. Cook for 2 whistles. Fluff the rice and add rest brown onion. Mix well. Serve hot with raita
