Daal Kachori is very famous in North India, specially in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. People love it in breakfast with Aalu ki sabzi.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Grounded Urad Daal 1/2 Cup
  2. Green coriander 2 spoon
  3. Green chilli 1
  4. coriander powder 1 tsp
  5. fennel powder 1 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  7. asafoetida 1/4 Tsp
  8. salt 1/2 tsp
  9. cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  10. Garam masala 1 tsp
  11. oil 4 tbs
  12. Refiend flour 2 Cup
  13. oil 1/4 cup
  14. salt 1/4 tsp
  15. oil for frying


  1. Firstly wash urad daal with water and wash for 3 hours.
  2. After 3 hours strain water and spread daal on a thick cotton cloth so that it can absorb extra water and daal became dry.
  3. Heat up a pan add 4 Tbs oil.
  4. add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green chilli, fennel powder, coriander powder and saute well.
  5. Add grounded daal, salt and garam masala and mix well.
  6. Stir continuously till you get a nice aroma. Daal will look dry.
  7. Turn off the flame.
  8. Take refined flour in the bowl and add salt and oil.
  9. Mix oil and salt in refined flour.
  10. Add water in small parts and make a dough (tighter than chapati dough.)
  11. Cover it with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  12. Make some small balls with the dough.
  13. Roll the ball and put little bit stuffing in the centre and seal it with edges.
  14. Roll it with a rolling pin in size of a kachori.
  15. Heat oil in a frying pan/kadhai on medium flame.
  16. Place the kachori in oil and fry them till they turn in to the golden brown.
  17. Fry all the kachori like this.
  18. Serve these kachoris with aaloo ki sabzi.
