Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Refined Flour - 250 gms
  2. Caster Sugar - 250 gms
  3. Butter - 150 gms
  4. Milk - 100 ml
  5. Vanila Essence - 1 tbsp
  6. Baking Powder - 1 tbsp
  7. Salt a pinch
  8. Pink Food Color - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. In another bowl, add butter (at room temperature) and sugar. Blend well until the mixture gets soft and fluffy.
  3. Add in milk and vanilla essence to the sugar mixture and mix well.
  4. Make a well at the center in the flour mixture and gradually pour in the milk mixture and keep folding the flour inside.
  5. Divide the above cake batter into 2 equal portions. Keep one portion as plain, as it is. Add the pink food color to the second half portion and mix well.
  6. Preheat the oven at 200 degree centigrade and grease a baking tin. Pour in the plain batter at the bottom, alternate with the pink batter over it, again alternate with plain batter, and on top add the pink batter. Keep alternating as much swirls as you want. I did just for 1 alternate.
  7. Bake at 200 degree centigrade for 25 minutes or until a fork/toothpick comes out clean from the cake when inserted.
  8. When you slice the cake, you can see the pink and white portions alternatively giving a vibrant pretty appearance to the cake.
