ABOUT Rava kesari RECIPE

One of my favorite recipes of all times ,rava kesari. I can have this for breakfast any or all days. The colour and the taste is so enticing to the eyes and tongue that you cant stop eating.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/3 cup sooji/ rava
  2. 2 tbsp ghee
  3. 1/3 cup sugar
  4. 1 cup water
  5. 2 tbsp cashews
  6. 1 tbsp raisins
  7. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  8. Few strands of saffron
  9. 1 drop orange food colour

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashews and raisins and keep aside.
  2. In the same ghee add rava and roast it on low flame till it changes colour and is aromatic .
  3. In another pan add water,sugar, saffron strands and orange food colour .
  4. Let this sugar syrup come to boil then add it to the roasted rava.
  5. Keep stirring well to remove all lumps.
  6. Add cardamom powder and some fried cashews and raisins.
  7. Mix well till all the water is absorbed and then switch off the gas.
  8. Garnish with more cashews and serve hot or cold as per your choice.
