Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Ragi flour
  2. 1 cup Grated Coconut
  3. 1 finely chopped Onion
  4. 1 tbsp finely chopped Ginger
  5. 1 finely chopped Green chilli
  6. 1/2 cup finally chopped Coriander leaves
  7. 2 springs chopped Curry leaves
  8. 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
  9. 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  10. 1 tbsp Urad dal
  11. 1 tbsp Bengal gram
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 2 tbsp Oil
  14. Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Seasoning: heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram, urad dal, onion sauté till soft.
  2. Add ginger, green chilli, capsicum & curry leaves sauté. Then cut off heat.
  3. Take ragi flour, grated coconut, salt, coriander leaves, & seasoned ingredients in a bowl and mix well, then sprinkle water & make soft dough.
  4. Take a lemon size of dough and make kolukattai (using your five fingers).
  5. Then steam it for 10 minutes in a steamer and serve hot with tomato tamarind chutney
