ABOUT Whole Urad dal Dosa RECIPE

My all time favourite breakfast is this healthy and nutritious whole urad dal dosa served with chutney and sambar.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup whole urad dal (Black gram lentil)
  2. 1/2 cup brown rice
  3. 1/2 tsp. methi seeds (fenugreek seeds)
  4. 1 tbsp. chana dal
  5. 1 tsp. peppercorns
  6. salt to taste
  7. oil to shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Soak the urad dal, brown rice, methi seeds, chana dal and pepper corns overnight or for minimum 4-5 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked urad dal, brown rice, chana dal and fenugreek seeds into a batter. Ferment overnight.
  3. Heat and grease a non-stick tawa. Pour a ladleful of the batter & spread it into a circle with the back of the ladle. Drizzle some oil around the edges. Cook for a minute on low flame till it is b
  4. Flip it over and cook the other side too till done. Transfer to a plate.
  5. Serve with Chutney & Sambar.
