Baked Falafel Sandwich

Ingredients to make Baked Falafel Sandwich

  • 1/2 cup kabuli chana
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 4 tbsp grated processed cheese
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 3-4 finely chopped green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped mint Leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Finely chopped coriander
  • salt to taste
  • Other Ingredients :
  • 4 small bread loaf
  • 1 onion slice
  • 1/2 cup red, yellow, green capsicum
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 4 cheese slice
  • For dressing :
  • 1/2 cup fresh curd
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onion
  • A pinch of sugar
  • salt and black pepper to taste

How to make Baked Falafel Sandwich

  1. Blend all the dressing ingredients in a mixture to a smooth sauce. Keep aside.
  2. For falafel : Soak the kabuli chana in water over night. Clean, wash and drain. Blend in a mixture to a coarse paste. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Put it in baking dish and bake 180*c for 10 to 12 minutes.
  3. How to proceed : Cut each loaf into two and warm the halves on a hot tava. Fill each loaf half with some onion slice and shredded lettuce, red, green, yellow capsicum, piece of falafal, cheese slice and a spoonful of dressing on top. Cover the vegetables by putting another slice of loaf. Serve immediately
