kabuli chane with good taste of masala can be eaten with Bhatura or poori.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups boiled kabuli/ white chole
  2. 1 large sized onion
  3. 1 large sized tomato
  4. 2-3 cloves of garlic
  5. 1 small piece of ginger
  6. 1 green chilli
  7. 1 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  8. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  9. 1 tsp red chilli powder (Kashmiri mirch)
  10. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  11. 1 tsp chole masala
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  13. 1 tsp amchoor powder
  14. Salt to taste
  15. 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Grind onion, garlic, ginger and green chilli. Set aside.
  2. Make a puree of tomato, of desired quantity. Do not add any water.
  3. In a wok, add oil. Let it get hot then add hing and cumin seeds. Let it crackle and it changes color to dark brown.
  4. Add coriander powder and mix with cumin seeds. Add ground masala and cook it for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add in the pureed tomatoes and cook properly till oil seperates from both the sides.
  6. Add all the dry masala and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add boiled chole, mix it and cook for a minute. Add the same water used for boiling chole.
  8. Cook for 4-5 minutes, add amchoor powder and mix it properly. Sprinkle garam masala.
  9. Serve with poori or bhature.
