Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup - Rawa (sooji)
  2. Edible colours - Orange and Green
  3. baking soda - 1 tsp
  4. salt a pinch
  5. curry leaves a few
  6. Rai seeds - 1 tsp
  7. oil - 1 tsp
  8. curd 1-2 tbsp
  9. water as required


  1. Take rawa, add curd, salt, baking soda and with a little water mix and make a batter.
  2. Keep the batter aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Grease the idli mould with a little oil.
  4. Now divide batter in three parts, mix orange colour in one part, green in second part and remaining third part white as it is.
  5. Pour the batter one by one of each colour (like flag sequence).
  6. Put the mould in microwave bowl and microwave for 10 - 15 minutes.
  7. Cool, un mould the idlis and make tadka of rai seeds and curry leaves.
  8. Pour tadka on idlis, serve with chutney or sambhar.
