Ingredients to make Arbi Leaves Snack (Pathrode)

  • 20 - colocasia leaves (Arbi leaves)
  • 650 gm - chickpea flour (Besan)
  • 4 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 tsp - Red chili powder
  • hing- A pinch
  • 3 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Ajwain
  • 4 tsp - Green chilies paste
  • 1 tsp - Garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • 4 tsp - garlic paste
  • 4 tsp- onion paste
  • 5 tbsp - mustard Oil
  • 1 tsp - Amchoor powder

How to make Arbi Leaves Snack (Pathrode)

  1. Wash the arbi leaves and soak it for 1 hour.
  2. Mix all the ingredients together and make a paste by adding the mustard oil along with some water (do not make it too thick or too thin).
  3. Take an arbi leaf, keep it faced down and apply the paste. Repeat this process with rest of the leaves as well.
  4. Make a roll shape like a candy and keep aside.
  5. Put some water along with all the arbi leaf rolls in a pressure cooker and close the lid. Cook on a medium heat till 4 whistles blow, then turn off the gas.
  6. Once the pressure releases and it cools down. Take out all the rolls and keep them in the fridge for 30 mins.
  7. Cut thin round pieces and shallow fry in mustard oil.
  8. Serve it hot for best taste.
