a traditional arabic sweet with crispy outer layer,nutty and creamy inner layer

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. roasted vermicelli-200gms
  2. butter-2tbsp
  3. milk-1.5cup
  4. sugar-1/2cup
  5. water-1/2cup
  6. lemonjuice-fewdrops
  7. cream cheese-2 pieces
  8. shreaded mozrella cheese-1/2cup
  9. crushednuts-1/2cup
  10. cofee powder-2tsp
  11. cornflour-2tbsp

Instructions

  1. crush the vermicelli with hands
  2. melt the butter and add gently to crushed vermicelli and mix well until the vermicelli is well soaked in butter
  3. to the plate layer a portion from vermicelli and gently press wifh hands
  4. for cream filling boil milk and add cornflour paste( cornflour and water) stir well without any lumps
  5. add the cream cheese crushed nuts and cofee powder
  6. pour this mixture into vermicelli layer
  7. spread the shreaded moxrella cheese
  8. top it with remaining vermicelli and gently press with hands
  9. meanwhile make sugarsyrup by adding sugar water and lemonjuice
  10. to the preheated oven at 200C place the kunafa and bake it for about 8-10 mins or until th top becomes golden
  11. once it baked remove from oven and pour immediately the sugar syrup all over
  12. garnish with crushed pistachios and serve hot
