a chutney made from putane ka daal

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Putana Daal/Putnala Papu 1 cup
  2. salt to taste
  3. water for consistency
  4. For tempering-
  5. Curry leaves 1/2 tsp
  6. dry red chillies-3
  7. Rai and jeera 1/2 tsp
  8. oil
  9. coriander leaves (shred) 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Grind putana daal and green chilies into fine powder,
  2. transfer this to a bowl and add water and salt for desired consistency and taste
  3. in another small wok prepare the tempering
  4. add oil, once it heats add rai and jeera
  5. once they splutter, add curry leaves, red chillies and corinader leaves
  6. transfer this to putana powder bowl
  7. mix well. set aside for 5minutes and serve
