Boondi Laddoos/ Motichoor Laddoos

Ingredients to make Boondi Laddoos/ Motichoor Laddoos

  • For the Boondi:
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • water 3/4 th cup or as required to make a semi thick batter (it should of a flowing consistency)
  • For the sugar Syrup:
  • 3/4th cup sugar
  • 1 cup water to make a one string consistency sugar syrup
  • ghee or refined oil for frying
  • Nuts and raisins, a handful
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Orange food colour 2 pinches

How to make Boondi Laddoos/ Motichoor Laddoos

  1. Make the boondis as shown in the pictures by pouring some batter through the sieve into the oil. You need to ensure that the oil is very hot while pouring the batter.
  2. Remove the boondis in a minute or two. (Do not overfry or make them crispier by frying for a longer time)
  3. Take a pan, add sugar along with water and food colour. It should be a one string consistency sugar syrup.
  4. After frying, add the chopped nuts and raisins of your choice and pour the hot syrup over it .
  5. Once the boondis are cooled and slightly warm, you can start shaping them into laddoos .
  6. To make the motichoor laddoos, just give the boondis a quick mix in the food processor before shaping them into laddoos .
