ABOUT Chilli Chicken Strips RECIPE

Chilli chicken strips make a delicious appetizer that are great when served for dinner. These chicken strips consist of chinese flavors such as sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and rice wine vinegar. These chicken strips have both a sweet and spicy flavor. The process to prepare this recipe is simple, the chicken strips are coated in a flour mixture, then deep fried and tossed with a sweet and spicy sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Sauce Ingredients: -
  2. 1 cup chicken broth
  3. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  4. 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  5. 2 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
  6. 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  7. 1 tablespoon sugar
  8. 1 teaspoon corn starch
  9. Chicken Strips Ingredients :-
  10. Vegetable oil (for frying)
  11. 1 boneless skinless chicken breast (sliced into strips)
  12. 1/3 cup butter milk
  13. 1/2 cup flour
  14. 1/2 cup corn starch
  15. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  16. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  17. 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  18. 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. To prepare the sauce, take a medium sized saucepan and combine the chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sweet chili sauce, oil, sugar, and cornstarch together. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce is slightly thickened. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  2. Heat oil to deep fry.
  3. Pour buttermilk into a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Dip each chicken strip first into the buttermilk, then roll it in the flour mixture until it is evenly coated.
  4. Place these chicken strips into the hot oil, a few at a time and deep fry the chicken strips in batches until they are golden brown and the chicken is fully cooked.
  5. Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Immediately toss the chicken strips with the sauce.
  6. Garnish chicken strips with green onions and sesame seeds.
