Toasted Cheese Rolls

Ingredients to make Toasted Cheese Rolls

  • 1 small loaf bread (fresh)
  • 100 gm soft cooking cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Melted butter to glaze
  • 1/2 capsicum
  • 1/2 onion
  • Black pepper and salt to taste

How to make Toasted Cheese Rolls

  1. Mix the cheese and 3 tbsp of butter together until it forms a soft mixture.
  2. Add the onion, capsicum into the cheese-butter mixture.
  3. Remove the crust from all sides of the bread and cut the bread lengthwise into thin slices.
  4. Place the slices on a damp cloth and spread some of the cheese mixture on each slice. Roll as tightly as possible and fasten it with toothpicks.
  5. Put the rolls in a plastic bag and let it chill in the freezer for about 15 mins.
  6. Brush each roll with melted butter. Toast it in a hot oven at 220°C for 10 to 15 mins until it's crisp.
  7. Serve with healthy green sprouted moong salad on the side.

My Tip:

For a healthy recipe, you can decrease the butter and cheese. Add mashed potato to the cheese and butter mixture. You can also add sprouted moong.
