About Cranberry Zarda Recipe

A traditional sweet recipe made with rice boiled in coloured water cooked in desi ghee with loads of nuts, mava, fruits and saffron

Cranberry Zarda

Ingredients to make Cranberry Zarda

  • Sela rice 2 cups
  • sugar 2 cup
  • Orange colour 1 tsp
  • Desi ghee 3 tbsp
  • elaichi 6
  • cloves 6
  • cinnamon stick 1 small
  • almond sliced 15
  • Kishmish 15
  • Cranberry 1/2 cup
  • Tooti frooti 1/4 cup
  • Sweet itr 4 drops

How to make Cranberry Zarda

  1. Soak rice for 2 hours
  2. Boil water and add colour
  3. Boil rice till soft
  4. Drain in the colander
  5. Heat desi ghee
  6. Add whole Garam masala
  7. Layer rice and sugar alternately
  8. Add dry fruit, cranberry, tooti frooti, and sweet itr
  9. Keep in dum for 20...25 minutes
  10. You can add crushed maws if you like
