Masala Gobhi

Ingredients to make Masala Gobhi

  • 1 small sized cauliflower, stem removed
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • onion paste 2 tbsp
  • Besan/chickpea flour 2 tbsp
  • yogurt 2 tbsp
  • Green chilli chopped 2
  • Degi mirch 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Meat masala 1 tsp
  • Dried methi leaves 1 tsp
  • sugar 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • peas 2 tbsp
  • coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Masala Gobhi

  1. Heat oil in pressure cooker, add in the cumin seeds, besan and saute for 2 minutes, then add green chilli, degi mirch, turmeric, ginger-garlic paste, onion paste and saute until the oil separates.
  2. Next, add salt, yogurt, peas, cauliflower, 2-3 tbsp water, methi leaves, garam masala, meat masala, sugar. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes or until 3 whistles blow.
  3. Add coriander leaves and serve.

My Tip:

You can also cook it in the oven at 180 degrees C for 20-30 minutes. For the first 15 minutes, cook it covered with a foil then open it and cook.
