Mirchi Achaar

Ingredients to make Mirchi Achaar

  • green chillies 12-15
  • turmeric powder- a pinch
  • garlic 8 cloves
  • Yellow mustard seeds 2 teaspoon
  • lemon 2 whole
  • salt to taste
  • mustard oil to shallow fry
  • water as required

How to make Mirchi Achaar

  1. Wash and cut the chillies into small size and keep it aside.
  2. Take a pan and put in some mustard oil. Let the oil heat properly. Then put the chillies into it and let it fry for 2-3 minutes. Once fried, keep the chillies aside.
  3. In a mixer, grind the garlic and mustard seeds together to make a nice paste.
  4. Then take a bowl and pour in the mustard garlic paste, then add the turmeric powder, lemon juice, water, fried chillies and mix it well. It should be of a thick consistency.
  5. Enjoy it with hot parathas or anything you like!

My Tip:

You can store this pickle in a jar for a month. It is a advisable to keep it in the fridge for a longer life.
