ABOUT Murungai Keerai Kadayal(Drumstick leaf dal curry) RECIPE

Drumstick leaves are a rich source of iron.It's an easy recipe with few ingredients.Yummy with hot rice and little ghee.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Drumstick leaves 2 cups.
  2. Toordal 1/2 cup.
  3. 1 medium onion chopped.
  4. 2 small tomato chopped.
  5. 6 garlic cloves.
  6. 3 tbsp tamarind juice.
  7. 1/2 tesp turmeric powder.
  8. Salt as per taste.
  9. 1 cup water.
  10. Seasoning(2 tesp oil,1/2 tesp mustard, 1/2 tesp urad dal, 2 red chilli,1/4 tesp asafadita)

Instructions

  1. Cook toor dal soft.
  2. In a pan add drumstick leaves,onion,garlic,tomato ,turmeric and a cup of water.
  3. Place pan on low flame and cook with lid covered.
  4. Once the greens are cooked add dal,salt,tamarind juice.
  5. Mix well and let cook for a minute.
  6. Remove and let cool.
  7. Grind it .
  8. Place pan on medium flame,add oil.
  9. Add in the seasoning ingredients and to it the green dal mixture.
  10. Let boil for 2 minutes.
  11. Remove serve with rice and ghee.
