ABOUT Crispy Moong Dal Pakoda RECIPE

Moong Dal pakoda is also known as moong dal bhajiya is a popular and tasty street food snack of mumbai. These are fried fritters made from yellow mung lentils and mildly spiced.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup soaked moong dal
  2. 2 tbsp rice flour
  3. 1 chopped onion
  4. 1 or 2 chopped green chilli
  5. ¼ tsp cumin seed
  6. ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  7. ½ tsp grated ginger
  8. ⅛ tsp asafoetida
  9. ⅛ tsp black pepper powder
  10. ¼ tsp red chilli piwder
  11. ½ tsp kasuri methi
  12. 2 Tbsp Coriander leaves
  13. Salt acc to taste
  14. Oil fir deep fry or shallow fry
  15. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Soak moong dal with enough water for 3 to 4 hr.or overnight. Drain the water and add them to the grinder.
  2. Add rhe rice flour, chopped onion,green chilli,coriander,all spices,asafoetida,ginger. Add water & grind to a smooth paste. Add salt and mix well.
  3. Stir the batter vigorously for a few minutes.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying in a kadhai or pan. Drop spoonfuls of moong daal batter in medium hot oil and fry till crisp & golden.
  5. Serve the moong dal pakoda hot n warm with coriander chutney or chilli n plain tomato sauce.
