Rang - E - Bahara is nothing but the reincarnation of the very humble malpua which is a holi staple. So bring in the colours of your life to the plate and share it with your family and friends this Holi. Happy Holi!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Refined flour- 1- cup
  2. Sugar- 1/2- cup
  3. Semolina- 1- tbsp
  4. Oil- 4- tbsp
  5. Dry fruits (mixed) - 3- tsp
  6. Fennel seeds- 2- gm
  7. Water- 1/2- cup
  8. Choco chip- 20- gm


  1. Take a deep bowl and mix refined flour, semolina, sugar and water to make a smooth batter and allow it to rest for 20 mins.
  2. Add the dry fruits and fennel seeds to the batter and mix it well.
  3. Separate the batter in different bowls and add 2 drops of various food colours as per your wish. Here, I have used red, green and brown colours.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and with the help of a laddle, spread the batter in the pan and shallow fry it to give a healthy twist.
  5. Serve the Rang-e-bahara malpuas hot or cold as per your preference to your loved ones with your desired garnishing.
